Outside Scholarships

  • These include scholarships provided by scholarship organizations, companies, and individuals outside the school for the development of higher education and further development, excluding scholarships such as on-campus tuition-related scholarships and the scholarship from the CNU Development Foundation. If an off-campus organization provides a scholarship through the CNU Development Foundation, it is classified as an on-campus scholarship.
  • Graduate School of Science and Engineering Research Scholarship (Governed by the Korea Science Foundation of the Ministry of Science and Technology)
    - Objectives: To improve research competency during coursework for excellent domestic students in master’s and doctoral graduate programs in the field of science and engineering, and to cultivate competencies as new researchers in the future.
    - Project Basis: Same as the National Scholarship for the science and engineering field
    - It is promoted every year in accordance with the “Plan for Graduate School of Science and Engineering Research Scholarship” of the Korea Science Foundation.
  • Future Korea 100 Years Humanities Scholarship (Governed by the Korea Student Aid Foundation)
    - Objectives: To secure the competitiveness of the future society of the nation through fostering humanities studies to encourage academic inquiry through continuous scholarship support to students to maintain and develop the academic foundation of the humanities.
    - It is promoted every year in accordance with the “Plan for Future Korea 100 Years Humanities Scholarship” of the Korea Student Aid Foundation
  • Other Scholarship Foundations and Individual Scholarship
    - Scholarships from scholarship organizations that designate certain qualification requirements (place of birth, family background, major, grades, etc.) are selected and distributed in accordance with the qualification requirements.
    - Outside scholarships that do not specify qualification specification are open to general students and are paid on the recommendation of a department head or higher official.
    - The types of outside scholarships paid to graduate students are as follows with each foundation selecting anywhere from 1 - 6 people, and the scholarship amount varying from 1,000,000 KRW to full tuition and fees.
